Defoaming agent for textile printing and dyeing

Mar 26, 2024

Viscose staple fiber, also known as man-made fiber, is a man-made fiber produced by chemical methods. Its manufacturing process is mainly based on the alkalinization of natural cellulose, such as cotton linens, wood, hemp, etc., to generate alkali cellulose, which is then processed through wet spinning and a series of processing procedures. Viscose staple fiber has the characteristics of good hygroscopicity and excellent spinnability, and is widely used in various types of clothing and decorative textiles. However, during its production and application, foam problems often occur.

Using textile printing and dyeing defoaming agents is an effective way to solve the foam problem and can improve the quality and aesthetics of the product.

1. Generation of foam

During the production and processing of viscose staple fibers, foam generation is inevitable, affecting product performance and processing efficiency.

The following reasons mainly cause foam:

(1) During the dissolution of cellulose sodium xanthate and the mixing process of viscose short fibers, air will be mixed in and bubbles will be generated.

(2) The added chemical additives will cause a large amount of foam.

(3) Changes in ambient temperature and humidity are also one of the reasons.

2. Dangers of foam

(1) Excessive foam will cause surface defects such as bubbles and pores in the viscose short fibers.

(2) Excessive foam will cause the hygroscopicity and fatigue resistance of viscose short fibers, the strength will decrease, and quality problems will occur.

(3) A large amount of foam will slow down the production and processing progress of viscose short fiber, and prolong the process.

3. Defoaming in textile printing and dyeing

(1) Textile printing and dyeing defoaming agents can quickly penetrate the foam, reduce its surface tension, and quickly defoam and long-lasting foam suppression.

(2) The chemical properties are stable and will not affect the basic performance and properties of viscose staple fibers after use, and will not have chemical reactions with them.

(3) It is resistant to high temperature, acid and alkali, and can stably produce defoaming and suppressing functions in a wide range of temperatures and pH values.

(4) Textile printing and dyeing defoaming agents meet the defoaming and foam suppression requirements in the textile printing and dyeing industry.
