Metal Cutting Liquid

  • Emulsified oil cutting liquid: It is mainly composed of mineral oil, emulsifier, anti-rust agent, oily agent and extreme pressure agent, etc. It has good lubricity and is suitable for cutting under high load and high temperature conditions, but it is difficult to clean and easy to pollute the factory environment.
  • Semi-synthetic cutting liquid: It is composed of a small amount of mineral oil, oily agent, extreme pressure agent, rust inhibitor, surfactant, etc. It has the advantages of emulsion and synthetic cutting liquid, and makes up for the shortcomings of both. It is the development trend of metal cutting liquid.
  • Fully synthetic cutting liquid: It is mainly composed of water-soluble antirust agent, oily agent, extreme pressure agent, surfactant and defoamer. It has excellent cooling and cleaning performance, is suitable for high-speed cutting, and has a long service life. However, synthetic cutting liquid is easy to wash off lubricating oil, reduce the lubricating effect, and easily cause parts to rust.
  • Coolant and antifreeze: The main component of commonly used coolant and antifreeze is ethylene glycol, which has outstanding antifreeze performance, low boiling point, good stability, and low viscosity coefficient, but the chemical properties of ethylene glycol are lively , prone to oxidation reactions.

Metal cutting liquid is generally divided into oil-based metal cutting liquid and water-based metal cutting liquid according to their composition and working methods. Commonly used metal cutting liquid include emulsified oil cutting liquid, semi-synthetic cutting liquid and fully synthetic cutting liquid.

 

Metal cutting liquid is a mixed lubricant used for cooling, lubrication, cleaning and rust prevention in the metal processing process.
